Brisbane Residents United is Brisbane’s peak body for community groups whose purpose is to:
- Represent Brisbane and surrounding district residents and provide them with a united voice (and through which local resident groups can have a voice) to Council, State and Federal Governments on matters pertaining to urban planning and development
- Act as a resource centre, facilitating information sharing across established and start-up local resident associations
As a group, we are not politically aligned and represent the voices of over 40 individual community groups across Brisbane.
A planning system that thinks of both today and tomorrow is built on fairness, equity and the concept of Ecologically Sustainable Development; guides quality development to the right places; ensures poorly designed developments and those in the wrong place are not approved for development; and protects the things that matter: parks, flora and fauna corridors, bushland productive agricultural land, low to medium density suburbs and the setting of historic houses and places.
